Episode 2.1: Starting Anew

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Welcome back everyone! The ladies of Kings World Podcast are beginning a new season of podcasting to go with the Kings starting the 2009-10 season. The team has already played a few games going 3-1-0, which puts them first in the Pacific Division and tied for second in the Western Conference. Connie and Marie review Frozen Fury XII, these opening games, and the games for this upcoming week, which starts in a few hours with the Kings facing off against the New York Islanders at 11:00 am PST!

This episode is short and sweet with a few sound glitches, but they hope you still enjoy listening and give any and all feedback!

Episode 1.34: Lazy Days of Summer

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

Connie and Marie have broken the summer sleep spell by getting together to record something semi-interesting about the Kings.  There have been some movement and additions by Dean Lombardi, but nothing too earth shattering.  The ladies discuss the trades and signings as well as who the Kings picked in the 2009 NHL Draft.  Marie isn’t as confident as Connie that the Kings will make the playoffs, but there is always a chance the Kings can actually pull something out of their behinds.  Of course, everyone looks forward to Frozen Fury coming to you this year on September 26.  Also, you will be able to hear Marie’s exciting Chicago story, which blows Patrick Kane’s out of the water!

Episode 1.33: The End of The Line

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

This is the last episode before the end of the regular season and the ladies of Kings World Podcast take a gander at how the last two weeks have spanned for the Kings.  Not surprisingly the team did not do so well after suffering injuries and playing in hodge podge lines.  Connie and Marie discuss the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy selections for the Pacific Division, touch on Jarret Stoll’s contribution in the faceoff circle, and wonder which teams will make the playoffs and which will suffer with the rest of the bottom feeders.  Please listen and enjoy!

Episode 1.32: Kings Are Out

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Episode 32 covers the past two weeks’ worth of games, which equals a total of 7 games.  The Kings went 2-4-1 and Connie finally admits that the Kings are toast.  With 10 games left on the schedule, it seems that the end is in sight for the Kings who are sitting 7 points out of the 8th spot in the Western Conference.  Connie gives her thoughts on the Evgeni Malkin hit on Wayne Simmonds, Marie doesn’t understand why Kevin Westgarth is in the lineup, and they both are unsure of the next week of games.  The Kings face the St. Louis Blues, Dallas Stars, and Nashville Predators.  The ladies also pick the player who had the Best Two Weeks Ever.  Please listen and enjoy!

Episode 1.31: Greener Invades!

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Marie and Connie are joined this week by Greener from He Score, He Shoot! Moose is no where to be found so Greener attempts to pick up the slack for both of them while the ladies are sitting comfortably.  The setting is a familiar Starbucks with some interesting things going on at that bustling location.  The trio discusses the trade deadline and how their respective teams fared, then Marie does game recaps for the Kings with a bit of help from Connie, and Greener ponders the meaning of life.  Simply put: it’s talk while hoping funny things are being said!

Episode 1.30: Leading Up To Trade Deadline

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

This episode brings things back into perspective for the ladies of Kings World Podcast.  Marie and Connie look at the Kings 1-2-0 record from the past week and really think about how this is going to effect what the Kings will do on Wednesday, March 4, trade deadline day.  According to Marie, this week could make or break the rest of the season, but Connie is a bit more optimistic with a hint of sarcasm to go along with it.  They do a bit of analysis on the Kings concerning the trade deadline and think about whose name could be brought into the mix.

Connie also reads an email she received and has extended the question to listeners.  Please listen and give feedback!  Please direct any questions, comments, or thoughts to kingsworldpodcast[at]gmail[dot]com.

Episode 1.29: Hello Reality

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

Marie and Connie are reporting this week that maybe the Kings weren’t as good as they had hoped.  After a stellar week two weeks prior, the Kings failed to gain any ground in the standings going 1-2-1 this past week.  The Pacific Division games are their usual unpredictable selves while the game against the Atlanta Thrasher proved to be a wild one.  After 12 regulation goals and a 4-round shootout, the Kings fail to gain two points there.  This next week sees the Kings playing three games away from Staples Center, which could be the remedy to their ailing.  The ladies also discuss their findings from commentors on what they thought were the most annoying lines to hear at hockey games.  Please let them know if you agree or disagree.

episode 1.28: Back To Reality

Monday, February 16th, 2009

The Kings were back in Staples for two of the three games this past week and Connie and Marie wonder whether they’ve been brought back to reality or not.  The Kings haven’t been in the playoff hunt for a number of years and it’s apparent to everyone in the lockerroom, in the seats at Staples, and those viewing at home.  Atlanta, Anaheim, San Jose, and Phoenix are up next for this week and the ladies give out Valentine’s to a couple of unpredictable (yet predictable) Kings players.  Question to the listeners: what are some annoying comments that you have overheard at hockey games?  Let us know so we can read them on the air!

Episode 1.27: 6 Points!

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

This week the Kings surprise the girls of Kings World Podcast by getting six points out of a possible six while in the middle of a five-game road trip.  They faced the Ottawa Senators, Washington Capitals, and New Jersey Devils where two out of the three have been doing very well.  Marie and Connie have plenty to talk about from Davis Drewiske to Alexander Ovechkin to Michael Cammalleri.  This week’s episode is jam packed with goodies for the listeners so please listen and enjoy!

Episode 1.26: Kings & Sens

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

Tonight Marie was delayed by traffic and subsequently absent from the podcast, but Sherry of Scarlett Ice was gracious enough to be a guest this week.  She comes on the show in a very timely manner seeing as how Craig Hartsburg was let go as of Monday morning from the Ottawa Senators.  A very unfortunate event for her team, but she is on the show and sounding not completely cheerful but not ready to throw her team under the bus..

The Kings are their usual selves and hopefully on the upswing.  They head into this week going up against 3 eastern conference teams.  Please listen and enjoy!
